The Boob Room

Growing up in the Bay Area, Robin Birdd became fearful of many things. As a child, her top fear was darkness, but more specifically exploring the dark mysteries under her parents bathroom sink. Amongst the miscellaneous items hidden under the bathroom sink, Birdd discovered a Halloween mask and a gigantic boob shaped mug. Shocked, afraid and confused, Birdd’s immediate reaction to the discovery was in question: Why would anyone want to drink out of a boob?

Boob Room is the 2 installment of her series, “Babies making babies” (BMB). BMB is inspired by forgotten childhood memories of play, discovery and Trauma. Each installment of BMB is contributed towards building an “adult playground” where the audience is encouraged to interact. Birdd challenges her audience to explore taboo topics of self discovery through play and sensory. Birdd sometimes finds herself staring at adults in serious and intense moments, realizing that this angry human adult was once a tiny innocent baby.
